Ovarian Cancer is a relatively uncommon type of cancer that occurs in the different cells in the ovary. Each year, approximately 22,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer but many don’t seek help until the disease has begun to spread to other parts of the body. If detected at an early stage, the survival rate is about 93%.
The symptoms of ovarian cancer are subtle and can be easily confused with symptoms of other diseases.

Ovarian Cancer is difficult to detect:
Signs of this disease are easily overlooked because they can signal a variety of conditions. Common symptoms are:
• Bloating
• Difficulty eating
• Abdominal discomfort
• Change in urinary habits

Speak to your doctor if you notice new symptoms that persist for three weeks or longer. If ovarian cancer is suspected, see a gynecologic oncologist for specialized care.
